Friday, August 06, 2010
The Gambia's international reggae dancehall heartthrob, Singhateh aka Freaky Joe, recently staged a cloudburst stage performance in Oslo-Norway.

Singateh was in this Scandinavian country, courtesy of The Gambian Oslo Association, during their 2010 Cultural Week Celebrations. The Gambian star who was the main guest artist during the occasion, described the turn out of Gambians as ‘impressive and fashionable’ as Gambians all over Europe travelled near and far to grace this spectacular cultural festival.

However, the Gambian in recently, has been regarded by many,  the king of reggae and pop in the country especially after the release of his much acclaimed 14 tracks ‘Rejoice album’.  Since then he has not relent on his laurel to push his music to the international level, thus necessitating his annual tour of Europe and United States to better promote his albums, as well as markets and record new stuffs.

Commenting on his Norway concerts, Singhateh continued;” It was one of the most fashionable Gambia occasion, I have ever attended, because, Gambians all over Scandinavia as well as other European countries like Germany, England, Holland came to witnesses this spectacular event. I had  a great time and did my best performance for two nights and people really appreciated  every bit of my actions," he told What's On, last Tuesday," while expressing gratitude to the said Gambian based in Oslo, for inviting him to perform for them. "I had a great tie there, I must confess and hope to be back in the near future," he promised.

First Spain tour
As part of his 2010 tour of Europe, the Gambia's international reggae sensation, will be heading to Spain from Norway for the first time to stage a concerts in Spain. Meanwhile, confirmed reports revealed that Singhateh, will be performing in two major Spanish cities during the Koriteh week, namely Barcelona and Madrid. "I choose these places, because I have a lot of youths that I want to reach out  as well as to share my experience. During my visit there I will also hold concerts to entertain them," he said.
