SK Jaiteh gives to Jamali Babou fire victims

Africa » Gambia
Monday, May 04, 2009
A prominent Gambian businessman, Salifu SK Jaiteh, recently donated second hand cloths worth over fifty thousand dalasis to the fire victims at Jamali Babou, Sami District, Central River Region North.

The said fire, according to our Janjangbureh correspondent, consumed over thirty-three houses in six compounds on  Saturday April 25th. Alhagie Ganyie Touray, the governor of the Central River Region, commended SK Jaiteh & Sons for the timely and humanitarian assistance.  He spoke at length on the numerous support Jaiteh has been rendering to disaster victims in the region.

According to Governor Touray, the donated items will not only improve the lives of the victims but will go a long way in complementing government efforts to assist the needy.  He said the victims were in desperate conditions since all their belongings perished in the fire. He then urged his people to be mindful as to avoid such incidents.
