Gambia Ports Authority kicked offtheir second round campaign in this season’s league with a goalless draw against league new boys Serrekunda United at the KG 5 mini stadium on Saturday. The ferry boys will be displeased for not grabbing a win after they created the better chances.

The first half saw each side trying to impose themselves on the game with few goalscoring chances. A quick free-kick from the left side saw Antouman Badjan release John Bass who sent a good cross into the Serrekunda United box but it failed to find a ferry boy. Then GPA’s striker Cherno Njie saw his free header from a corner sail over the bar as both teams ended the first interval goalless.

Eight minutes after the restart, GPA were awarded a penalty by central referee Omar Sallah after Abdoulie Bah was brought down inside the Serrekunda United box after a reckless challenge. However, Cherno Njie’s kick was saved bythe Serrekunda keeper.
