SK West qualifiers completed

Africa » Gambia
Friday, July 13, 2012

Shanghai, Boys United, Stickers and Apapa FC are the four teams that will be incorporated into the Serekunda West Nawettan proper this year after they negotiated their way through the qualifiers which came to an end this week. But out of the four teams, it is only Apapa FC that will be debutants in the championship, as the other three are making comebacks following relegations.

Shanghai earned a place in the Nawettan proper with a post-match penalty shoot-out defeat of Junction Bi after regulation time ended goalless while Boys United also made their passage via the gruesome penalty following a 1-1 stalemate with Guiye Gi. Sticklers from Latrikunda German ensured that they will contest this year's Nawettan competition after they overcame Wailers 2-0.

Apapa, the other Latrikunda German team knocked out heavyweights Unicorns who were relegated last year. After the two sides failed to secure the win in regulation time, penalties was once again needed to seperate the them.
