Sololo Basic Cycle School boostedTuesday, February 02, 2010 Sololo Basic Cycle School in Upper Fulladu District, Central River Region south, over the weekend received furniture worth over sixty-nine thousand dalasi from Bruce Lamford, a British national, at a ceremony held at the school ground. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Demba Jallow, the principal of the school, thanked Bruce Lamford for the gesture and expressed hope that the material will go a long way in improving the educational standard of the children in the region. He revealed that the donor has also established a link between the school and another school in UK. For his part, the senior cluster monitor, Ahmat S. Bah, called on the school management to make best use of the furniture and commended the donor for complementing government’s efforts towards the education sector. According to him, providing such materials will make learning and teaching easier for both the teachers and the students. Bah finally called on parents to send their children to school.
