Sharon Doyle sand Elayne Blackburn, British philanthropists, recently donated educational and sporting materials to St Mathew Nursery School, Anne Harie Jawonly Skill Centre and Koko Football Academy respectively.

The materials included stationery, pieces chalk, books, footballs, football kits, wheelchairs and some cash valued at 4000 pounds. Speaking at the ceremony, Sharon Doyle said that the charitable organisation is self-funding and started by her mother Sadie Doyle, with support from Rayinond and Helen Smyth, Roy and Patrrica Pgley and Citi Group in London.

She reaffirmed their commitment to further proceed with such gestures, noting that plans are ahead to bring more assistance in The Gambia. She added that they are also sponsoring six student teachers at the Gambia College.

She commended her mother for the brilliant initiative and everyone involved in mobilising funds to help the needy people in The Gambia.  She further reiterated their desire to strive hard to bring more support despite the huge challenges, to ensure that their objective is achieved.

In a letter of appreciation sent to the donors, Mbanba Camara, co-ordinator of Koko Academy in Old Jeshwang, thanked the philanthropists for the kind assistance adding that giving support to such ambitious youths will boost their morales in sports.

Jarrai Jabbi, one of the beneficiaries of the wheelchairs, thanked the philanthropists describing them as real friends of Gambia.
