Taiwanese leader thanks President JammehFriday, May 04, 2012 The
president of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency, Ma Ying-jeou has
sent a letter of gratitude to the Gambian leader, His Excellency, Sheikh
Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, government and the people of The Gambia for
the kind hospitality accorded to him and delegation during his recent state
visit to The Gambia. The message reads: On behalf of my entire delegation, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Your Excellency, as well as to the government and people of your esteemed nation, for the kind hospitality accorded to us during our recent visit. This marked my first visit to The Gambia, and I must say that I was deeply impressed by the unique charms of the ‘Smiling Coast of Africa’, as well as the warmth and diligence of your people. I am confident that, under Your Excellency’s outstanding leadership, your beautiful country will continue to make progress and flourish as you work towards bringing Vision 2020 to fruition. I would like to reiterate that I will continue to work with Your Excellency on further consolidating the close and cooperative relations that happily exist between our two countries, for the benefit of both our peoples. In the meantime, please accept, Your Excellency, the assurance of my highest consideration, as well as my best wishes for your personal wellbeing and the prosperity of your great country.
