Taiwanese medical team arrivesFriday, July 09, 2010 Mackay Memorial Hospital (MMH) in Taiwan has dispatched a team of seven medical and nursing personnel to the Republic of The Gambia. The team arrived in the country yesterday, July 8th 2010 to deliver medical services both at the RVTH and at the Serrekunda hospital.A press release from the Taiwanese embassy in Banjul revealed. The release reads: Mackay Memorial Hospital (MMH) Taiwan has dispatched a team of seven medical and nursing personnel to the Republic of The Gambia from July 8th to 22nd 2010. The MMH medical team is expected to deliver services both in RVTH and Serrekunda hospital.During its stay in The Gambia, the MMH medical team will also pay a courtesy call upon the ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Medical Research Council (MRC), Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH), Serrekunda Hospital and Bansang hospital. Inspired by the core value of 'Burn out oneself, rather than rust out', MMH's overseas mobile clinic has delivered medical goods and services to 9,000 patients in Asia Pacific and Carribean countries during October 2006 to May 2010.The visit of MMH Medical team and earlier Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps are co-organised by The Gambia government and the ROC (Taiwan) government.
