The lesson of ChristmasMonday, December 29, 2008 Editorial The festivities of Christmas might be behind us now, but the echoes of its teachings remain with us. Like all other religious feasts, the lessons to be drawn from this blessed feast are as significant to our contemporary world before celebrations as they are after the celebrations. The realities of our world today, however, largely directly contradict what is immortalised in the exemplary life history of the man we all remember at this time of the year, Jesus Christ, who represents a unique meaning to this world of ours as he represents some thing of a divine significance to the rest of humanity. Regardless of what your faith is or what your line of thought is regarding the teaching of Jesus Christ, if you consider him as the revered personality he actually is, you have no reason to lead a life that defies his teachings which are done on the premises of peace, love, unity, tolerance. and all the virtues of life. Yet the above tenets constitute the sole requisite factors for a progressive society, something all free minded people of the world envisaged. If you subscribe to the teachings of this great man you will desist from any form of bad deed. It does not just stops at jumping around on Christmas Day, but we must go on to adopting practices that totally embraces his wise teachings. This message is especially crucial for us the youth.
