Thief gets 6 months with hard labour

Magistrate Edward Singhateh of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17th July 2012 convicted and sentenced one Siaka Tambedou to serve six months imprisonment with hard labour, for the offence of theft, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.


The particulars of the offence stated that on the 30th June 2012 at Bakoteh in the Kanifing Municipality, the convict stole from the shop of one Deyorro Sidibeh the following items: two laptops marked HP and Acer valued at D15, 500, one DVD player valued at D4, 500, three blackberry phones valued at D15, 000, one I-Pad valued at D35, 000 and one MP3 valued at D1, 500, thereby committed an offence.


The convict pleaded guilty to the charge levelled against him and the prosecutor handling the case, Sgt 132 Sambou read the facts of the case, which the convict admitted. The presiding magistrate sentenced him accordingly.
