Tijan Jaiteh back in Brann lineup

Thursday, May 21, 2009
Gambia and SK Brann midfielder,, Tijan Jaiteh has been handed a starting place in Brann's premier league match against Fredrikstad today (Thursday).

Tijan Jaiteh has rarely been a regular in the Brann starting XI, albeit he has been very outstanding in all the matches he played this season. The Gambian was left on the bench in Brann's 1-1 draw at home to Start on Saturday. And this came as a disappointment for the young midfielder after media reports in Norway suggested that the French second tier club, Racing Lens, had come to watch him in action for a possible summer deal.

But after a training session on Tuesday, coach Steiner Nilsen confirmed Jaiteh would be an automatic choice for today's home clash after Rodolph Austin was handed a one-match ban for reaching his card limit of three yellows. "Tijan will play from the start. He has done well in the past and he is a natural choice. He has worked well in training and we have had several conversations together," "Tijan has adjusted his focus and he has responded well to this. It is easy to see the path. He is very positive," Nilsen told the club website.
