Total Company's regional vice chairman visits SOS Children's Village

Stanislas Mittelman, vice chairman of the Total Oil Company Ltd for West Africa, accompanied by his assistant Marc de Rataillade and the managing director of Total Oil Gambia Ltd, Jonas Ayi, yesterday  paid a working visit to the children of the SOS Children's Village located in Bakoteh.

The visit was meant to give first hand information to the officials of the Total Oil Company about the situation and welfare of the children hosted in the SOS Children's Village, especially those living in the Total Oil Company's adopted house within the Village. The occasion as usual was characterised by presentation of Ramadan gifts and the donation of a brand new refrigerator to the children of the village.

Speaking at the  ceremony, Jonas Ayi, managing director of Total Oil Gambia Ltd, introduced the vice chairman of Total Oil Company for West Africa and his assistant to the gathering. Ayi revealed that the vice chairman and his assistant were on a two-day business trip to The Gambia and expressed desire to see the SOS Children before returning to their places of work..

"The vice chair and his assistant came on a-two-day working visit to The Gambia, but he [the vice chair] wanted to see you [children] before returning to his country of work. He is very pleased to see you and interact with you. He valued you children and as such he decided that he must first of all see you, interact with you and give you gifts," Total Oil Company boss  told the children. Madam Oumou Tall, acting national director of SOS Children's Village, extended a warm welcome to the Total West Africa vice chairman and his assistant for the visit and donation.

Madam Tall, thanked the oil company for what she described as wonderful support and assistance rendered to the children of the village over the years. She then seized the opportunity to highlight the numerous supports given to the SOS children by the Total Oil Company Ltd  apart from the adoption and sponsorship of a house in the village. According to the acting SOS Children's Village director, Total Oil Company staff always give assistance to the children on occasions such as Tobaski feast, Christmas, among others.

She assured them of her office's commitment towards the welfare of the children hosted in the village, Stanislas Mittelman, the vice chairman of Total Oil Company for West Africa, thanked the management, mothers and children of the village for the warm welcome extended to him and his assistant. He assured them of his commitment to development and welfare of the SOS Children's Village. The presentation was followed by an extensive tour of the Total Oil's adopted house by the visiting team.
