Touba Angalleh villagers rehabilitate roadFriday, September 25, 2009 The vice chairman of Kerewan Area Council, Sheriff Misba Hydara applauded the Village Development Committee(VDC) and people of Touba Angalleh for rehabilitating a 4 -kilometre road stretching to Fass Njaga Choi in Lower Nuimi of North Bank Region. The road linking the two communities would contribute to easy transportation of goods and services and by extension enhance economic well-being of the two communities if successfully rehabilitated. In an interview with the Daily Observer correspondent in the region, Sheriff Misba Hydara, ward councilor for Medina ward who doubles as the cice chairman of Kerewan Area Council thanked the communities for complementing the efforts of his council and hailed them for the foresight of rehabilitating the road, which he said clearly demonstrated the commitment of the VDC and the community of Touba Angalleh in promoting ownership of development projects. He said the council would always by their side in the quest of attainment of sustainable development and improving the livelihood of the people adding that the rehabilitation would greatly enhance communication networks and boost economic status of the two communities. Ebrima Jallow, VDC chairman and Mamudu Jallow, the Alkalo of Touba Angalleh, applauded the people of the village for their cooperation and understanding for actively participating in the week-long road rehabilitation. The road project was described by various speakers as important route in facilitating not business transactions and but contribute to socio-economic advancement of the community. This they said would ensure that women and children have easy access to health care services. The community assured of their continuous support in advancing the socio-economic development and improve the livelihood of the community in the attainment of food security, health and basic social services.
