Toubabo eyes exit

Monday, May 04, 2009
Gambia international midfielder Mustapha (Toubabo) Jarju looks to be on the move this summer given that his Belgian club, RAEC Mons, will see themselves in the second tier of Belgian football next season.

Toubabou who is Mons top scorer with eight goals has no interest in staying to help his team gain promotion next season and reports in the Belgian media have it that some teams are reportedly interested in the skilful forward, whose contract with his current side runs until 2011.

According to ExtraFoot.be some unnamed clubs in both Belgium and France are tracking the Gambian who arrived from second tier side SK Lierse last season. Toubabou is yet to make public his intentions regarding his future with Mons, but he didn't hide his frustrations at the confirmation of the club's relegation with four games in hand.

"Nobody is happy with the situation. We had the capacities to stay in D1 [Division One] but at the end, the results did not come our way," he told the club's web site. "It is going to be difficult to have motivation to compete for the 4 remaining matches but we are professionals, we must keep creed for the club, the president and the supporters."
