Tribute: In memory of a dear sister, Hina Tamba

It was in the warm evening of February 10th when the cool hands of death snatched you away from us. Mummy weeped in sorrow as Dad stood speechless as tears glittered in his eyes.

Your sister, Aunty, still wonders whether you are truly gone.  But when she goes to bed without you and wakes up in the morning without seeing your beautiful smile, the story is different.

If death could have been averted, your dreams will never be left raw and undefined.  Oh Hinna, I am opportuned to inform you that mummy still remembers your great aspirations and ambitions about life. Your schoolmates commit to memory the happy moments in life they share with you. Seventeen years is to us seventeen days.

As you are gone, you will always be in our minds. We will never get weary of loving you. We will continue sharing every new day of our lives with you. Your departure has created a vacuum in the family that cannot be filled. But in Allah we put our hopes and seek for his continued guidance.

My fear sister, you have made an inevitable and eternal exit from this world, but you will ever remain in my heart. Words cannot describe my grief after your exit. You have left an irreparable vacuum. You were a giant in the advancement of our society. We will continue to remember your wonderful contributions in the family; your easy and ever-smiling face and astute thoughts that served and continue to be my flash bearer.

On behalf of the family, I resolve to continue praying for you, for The Almighty Allah to shower His blessings on you and for an eternal peaceful rest.
