Trust Bank gives to Faraba Banta Arabic SchoolMonday, May 04, 2009 Trust Bank (Gambia) Ltd recently presented a cheque of twenty thousand dalasis to the Faraba Banta Arabic School at a ceremony held at the school ground. Faraba Banta Arabic School, registered as an institute for memorising the Qu'ran and the teaching of "Sunnah", was built by one Alhagie Ousman Njie of Faraba in 1986, but he passed away just five days prior to the scheduled official opening of the school. The school is the only institute with nursery, primary and junior secondary schools in the whole of Kombo East. The money will help the Board of Directors to embark on massive renovation works on the school structures. Omar Saidykhan, Board secretary, described Trust Bank as The Gambia's own bank that is committed to assisting its people. Nfansu Jung Conteh, board chairman of the school, said the board aims to improve the school's condition by renovating the buildings, providing fencing and a mosque for the school. He praised the Njie Kunda family for supporting the school and Trust Bank for their intervention. Abubacarr Jammeh, marketing officer, Trust Bank, Banjul office said that Trust Bank is a Gambian Bank out to help Gambians. He said Trust Bank assists needy people particularly in the areas of education, health, sports and disaster issues. Abdallah Martin, branch manager, Trust Bank Brikama Branch, promised that Trust Bank will always remember Faraba Banta Arabic School and expressed hope that the money given will be spent as intended.
