Two days workshop on insurance awareness ends in BarraThursday, August 06, 2009 The insurance association at the Gambia in collaboration with the Barra based NGO save humanity foundation, (SAHFA). Recently organised a two days workshop on insurance awareness in Barra, North Bank Region. Speaking at the workshop the president of the insurance association the Gambia Dawada Sarge, said the aim of the workshop is to create awareness to their clients about the importance of insurance, because he said they received very little education or no education at all insurance matters hence the numerous and unnecessary disputes between insurance companies and the insuring public, he said their client education initiative, which is also a focused area for the (IAG) is designed to promote understanding for the basic concepts underlying insurance transaction generally so that the customer can determine the most suitable product option and contract terms available when buying insurance. Modou Faye chairman of save humanity foundation, thank the official of (IAG), for on lighten the public about the values and benefits of insurance and also erase some of the negative perception and widespread misconception about it this Faye said will be in a better passion to mitigate potential economic losses and thereby protect themselves and their assets from risks and other exposures. Henry Jawo secretary general of the (IAG) said to held this workshop is to provides a unique opportunity to engage in a shored conversation, as part of responsible business community, working towards the empowerment of our people with right information and tools to improve their livelihood.
