Africa » Gambia
Thursday, April 19, 2012

The new Serrekunda Hospital in the Kanifing Municipality, recently received a donation of medical items from one Junkung Jammeh, a Gambian based in the United Kingdom.

Among the items donated included wheel chairs, examination gloves, disinfectants, crutches, airway management system, syringes, surgical dressing materials, plates, and cupboard and so on.

Speaking on behalf of the donor, a family member, Lamin Jammeh, said the move by Junkung is not the first of its kind, noting that his brother has been relentless in assisting the health sector.

Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiary, the public relation officer of the Hospital, Alieu Badjie, thanked the Jammeh family for lending support to the development of the hospital. He said the donation will go a long way in addressing the health needs of patients.
