Wednesday, June 17, 2009
The much awaited Virgin Nigeria maiden flight between Nigeria and Banjul has finally landed at The Gambia International Airport, Banjul, on Monday.

The new airbus and the crew were received and welcomed to the Smiling Coast of Africa at the Banjul International Airport by some top officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA), Gambia Hotel Association (GHA), Virgin Nigeria representative office in The Gambia, tour operators and some stakeholders.

The maiden flight that  landed at GIA on Monday has among its passengers, some tour operators, hoteliers, businessmen, media practitioners, corporate clients, and stock brokers. This familiarization tour was facilitated and made possible through the efforts of The Gambia Tourism Authority in collaboration with The Gambia Hotel Association.

The main objective behind the tour is to further expose the FAM trip group to the best of the Smiling Coast and develop regional tourism in The Gambia.
