The vice president and minister of Women’s Affairs, Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy has joined the list of individuals congratulating the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh on the occasion of his 47th birthday.

Other messages came from Numo Kujabi, the director general of the National Intelligence Agency; Yankuba JN Sonko, the Inspector General of Police; Ebrima Cham, director general of Gamworks; and Robert P Ellison, CSSP, The Bishop of Banjul.

The message reads:

All praises be to Allah the Almighty for yet another birthday celebration of yours. Many congratulations on your birthday. It is with great honour and delight that we join in the celebration of your birthday with H.E the First Lady, the rest of the First Family, my family, Office of the Vice President, Board of Directors, management staffs, beneficiaries of Jammeh Foundation for Peace, the rest of the government and the Gambian people and especially Gambian women, to sincerely wish you a happy birthday and give praises to Allah the Almighty.

Your birthday, 25th May 2012, is a memorable and significant day since the day coincides with African Liberation Day. The coincidence is noteworthy given that you are one of the dynamic new breed of young pan African leaders. Africa looks up to the likes of you for leadership and liberation from mental and economic enslavement. It is fitting that both your birthday and African Liberation Day are celebrated in The Gambia and beyond.

Gambians and citizens of the Sub region are indebted to you on the pivotal role you played in convening the ECOWAS Contact Group on Guinea Bissau here in The Gambia. We appreciate the lengthy time you invested in ushering peace for the people of Guinea Bissau. We appreciate and felicitate you on your contributions to the ECOWAS Peace and Security Council.

Once again, we are delighted to take stock of your admirable and adorable development achievements encapsulated in our development blueprints, Vision 2020 and PAGE among others, for the benefit of Gambians and non-Gambians alike. Your landslide presidential victory is a testimony of the confidence Gambians have in you and your development agenda.

In the name of Allah, may the years continue to be good for you, your family and for Gambians; best wishes for many more years to come. May Allah the Almighty continue to give you and the nation so much more blessings and good health, Ameen.
