Wade felicitates President Jammeh

Africa » Gambia
Wednesday, February 24, 2010
President Jammeh continues to receive congratulatory messages from prominent people in and outside the country on the occasion of The Gambia's 45th Independence Anniversary.

The latest message came from Maitre Abdoulaye Wade, the president of the Republic of Senegal, who was in Banjul last week to attend the country's 45th Independence celebration.

The message reads: Mr President and dear brother,
The celebration of the National Day of the sister Republic of The Gambia gives me great pleasure to present to you and to the brotherly and friendly people of The Gambia, my warmest felicitations.

I wish to add my fervent best wishes for Your Excellency's health, personal wellbeing, as well as wishes for peace, stability and prosperity for the Gambian nation.

Bearing in mind the excellent memories of my official visit of last January, I wish to renew my strong determination to pursue with you our joint work to consolidate and strengthen the historic, family and friendly relations within the Senegambian space.

Highest and fraternal consideration.
Abdoulaye Wade,President of the Republic of Senegal
