WAEC: Students to sit for substitute Science Paper II Friday

Africa » Gambia
Monday, May 14, 2012

Following the compromise of the Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examination Science Paper II and its subsequent cancellation, the West Africa Examinations Council, Banjul Office has confirmed that a substitute paper has been developed and that the paper will now be administered to candidates countrywide on Friday, May 18th, 2012 from 12:30 to 13: 45.

A press release from WAEC Banjul Office said the cost of developing and reprinting this paper stands at a staggering D444, 096.95, a bill the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has generously agreed to foot which they described as a ‘ hard-earned tax-payers’ money.

“The West African Examinations Council, Banjul office therefore enjoins the public once again, as it has done on many fora before, to give their support in rooting out examination mal-practices from our society,” the release concluded.
