Weightlifting body partners with British couple

africa » gambia
Tuesday, April 14, 2009
The Gambia Weightlifting & Bodybuilding Association has recently signed a sponsorship agreement with UK couple Mr Brenda Annable and Mrs Darek Annable.

The agreement, according to the weight lifting association president, Musa Koteh, will see the British couple sponsor most of the association's activities including the association's nation-wide tour planned  for next month in a bid to expose the trade of weight lifting in the country.

Koteh, who recently returned from Madrid, Spain, where he attended the International Weightlifting Federation congress, said the British couple have shown a very keen interest in working hand-in-glove with his association to ensure that they have good training materials and an administrative office for the day-to-day running of the association.

Thanking the couple for their readiness to support the weightlifting body, Koteh said this development could not have come at a better time as they were facing severe constraints.
