Editorial

We welcome the Al-Sultanah International Holding Limited delegation from Oman to The Gambia. We are optimistic that the firm would secure a deal with our government to explore our investment market. We are aware that investment is vital for our economy; this is precisely why the leadership is continuously expanding the scope of the enabling environment to attract more investors into the country.

We know that the Omani delegation would find The Gambia a favourable place to invest. Over the years there has been an unprecedented transformation in the country, infrastructure wise; including constant and adequate power and water supply, good road network and communication systems just to name a few. With the right infrastructure in place, investors are motivated to seek for more investment opportunities to invest in the country, and bring about the smooth movement of goods and services for economic growth. What is even more important is that it is evident that our economy is becoming a home for progress. The peace and stability that the country enjoys is also attracting more and more investors.

There is therefore no doubt that the Omani investment group would find this country an enterprising and safe haven for their investment ambitions. We remain optimistic that if all goes well, the government would give them all the necessary support and encouragement; they are also bound to experience the perfect Gambian hospitality. We once again welcome the Omani investors to The Gambia.
