Amie Dibba, known to some as Amina, is an inspiring young woman who is determined to make positive change in the life of the average Gambian female.

At age 21, she has gained so much admiration, fame and respect from her mates and younger ones. Amie was born of Gambian parents in Texas but has lived in Minnesota since the age of two. Unlike most who would connect to or take American Citizenship, Amie has decided to be connected to her roots and strongly states "I AM GAMBIAN!". She emerged as the first ever MISS GAMBIA USA in May of 2006 in Maryland and continues to volunteer her time with the Miss Gambia USA LLC Organisation. What is amazing about Amie is her dexterity and versatility as she does quite a lot of things all of which she is very good at.

She is currently working with the African Broadcasting Network-America as the Director of Music and Master Control Operator. During one of her recent trips to The Gambia, she was able to cover the African Union summit and also interviewed about 17 local talents. Amie is indeed a role model who is very humble, hard working and focused.

Volunteering her time to write for and contribute to the Gambian Talents website is also something she takes great pride in. She is presently attending University of Wisconsin-River Falls as a Senior majoring in Marketing Communications with a minor in Mass Communications. Young Amie Dibba is also a musician. She has already produced 10 promotional singles by herself on her computer. "My first love was music. My goal is to become a national recording artist. At this time, I am teaching myself how to produce and arrange music.

I focus strongly on writing meaningful as well as catchy lyrics that draw the attention of the listeners and connect with them and their experiences. I know that with much practice and motivation my skills will become much better," said Amie. She started singing at the age of 6. She sang in a choir for 7 years. "For 4 years I was a member of a singing group last known by me to be called "Harmonie".
