Wisdom Nursery School holds graduation ceremony

Africa » Gambia
Monday, July 16, 2012

Wisdom Nursery School recently held its 6th graduation and prize-giving ceremony held at its school ground in Serekunda. Speaking at the event, Deacon Emmanuel Omorodion, the proprietor of the school, told the gathering that his school as a nursery school, offers its kids excellent knowledge, not only on nursery school syllabus but primary school syllabus as well, with boldness, talent and good spoken English.

For his part, Pastor Ibe Rex Nwokama, the guest speaker, advised the pupils to have great interest in education and pay attention on English language, as the official language. According to him, with wide knowledge in English they can have the potential to serve in various fields of human activities.

“Children being the future leaders are expected to be well nurtured and motivated to be able to grow up as disciplined and respectable youth,” he remarked. He then urged the teachers to be patient and understanding in dealing with the kids. He however noted that “if one needs good position in life, you need to be knowledgeable,” and that as a school authority, one needs to discipline school childrenso that they are able to meet their targets in life.

Nwokama also urged parents to take it as a responsibility to discipline and monitor their children. He further posited that a country cannot develop without educating its children, and that to develop, a child needs a good and strong foundation. Chrisiopher Omo, sales andmarketing manager at Sankung Sillah and Sons, expressed similar sentiments.
