The national Women's Bureau, through the Janjangbureh Development Association Banjul branch, last Sunday, donated a milling machine to Gamspadd Women Group in Janjangbureh, Central River Region.

The group is also benefiting from a vegetable garden supported by the Bureau. Handing over the machine, Aziz Hydara, the vice president of the Janjangbureh Development Association, gave a brief history of the association, noting that it was established in 2007 with the aim of working together to bring development to  Janjangbureh.

The governor of the region, Alhagie Ganyie Touray, urged the people in the area to unite for the interest of development.  He called on them to make best use of the machine. Hamadi Jawneh, the chairman of the Village Development Committee, applauded the association for lobbying for the machine for the women in Janjangbureh. He urged them to strengthen their unity and cooperation.

The chief of Janjangbureh, Bakary Jam Jawo, commended the association for their efforts towards the development of Janjangbureh.  He thanked the Women's Bureau for empowering the women in his district.  He urged them to establish a management committee for the smooth running and sustainability of the machine.
