YCS organises fundraising

In-line with the teaching of the Holy Bible to help needy people in society, the Young Christian Students (YCS) club at the Fatima Senior Secondary School in Bwiam Foni Kansala recently organised a luncheon sale at the school grounds.

Speaking at the occasion, Jacqueline Boissy, the president of the club, said the objective of organising the luncheon sale was to raise funds to help needy students in the primary school. According to her, the club has been involved in helping students at the primary level for many years. "We are looking forward to extending the sponsorship package to the junior and senior schools," she said. She disclosed that the club members do engage in farming to help raise funds for the club. She added that they cultivated cassava and coos last rainy season.

Boissy explained that the club is not financially strong, and as a result most of their activities were sponsored through donations from institutions and individuals within Bwiam. "We want to help more needy students but due to financial constraints we cannot," Boissy pointed out.

Students from both the primary and junior schools were at the luncheon sale to show their solidarity with the Young Christian Students in Fatima.
