Youth remanded for defilementTuesday, July 14, 2009 One Mustapha Jallow, last week, appeared before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court charged with defilement of a girl under the age of consent. According to the prosecution, the accused in the month of June 2009, in Ebo Town, committed the said act. When the charge sheet was read to him, he pleaded not guilty. Meanwhile, the presiding magistrate ordered that the accused be remanded. The magistrate also said that the court would get in touch with the authorities at the Judicial Headquarters to see if the case could be transferred to the High Court.
