Youth & women groups in KM celebrate Hon. Sonko’s nomination

The youth and women groups within the Kanifing Municipality recently celebrated the nomination of Babou Gaye Sonko, the former APRC Youth mobiliser as a National Assembly member.

Speaking at the venue of the celebration in Tallinding, Yankuba Colley, the mayor of Kanifing Municipality who also doubles as the APRC National mobiliser thanked President Jammeh for nominating Hon. Babou Gaye Sonko. He noted that Hon. Sonko has been immensely contributing to the development of the ruling party and the country as well.

He added that Hon. Sonko has dedicated all his life for the party and has also worked closely with the youth and women during his tenure as the National Youth mobiliser.

For her part, Mariama Banna Badjie, councilor of Tallinding Ward described the occasion as a joyous moment, noting that Hon. Sonko has done a good work in the municipality.

Hon. Babou Gaye Sonko thanked President Jammeh for the nomination. He also thankedthe youth and women for rallying behind the Gambian leader and the APRC. He called on the imams in area to recite the Holy Quran and pray for President Jammeh’s long life and for his government to achieve his vision for the country.

Other Speakers at the event included Hon. Pa Malick Ceesay of Lower Saloum, Hon Sainey Mbye of Upper Saloum, and Momodou Jaiteh, councilor for Kololi Ward, among other dignitaries.
