Sunbeach tour guides embark on set-setal

Thursday, January 10, 2008
Official tourist guides from Sunbeach Hotel and Resort, teachers and students of Bakau Lower Basic School (LBS), last weekend, embarked on a two-day massive cleaning exercise at the dumpsite behind Bakau LBS and the Bakau Muslim Cemetery .

The guides also did the painting of the cemetery fence, as well as rehabilitate the road to the cemetery.

In an interview with the Daily Observer, Bassiru Gassama, chief security coordinator of Sunbeach Hotel, thanked the Sunbeach tour guides for what he described as a magnificient sacrifice towards nation building.

Mr Gassama also observed that this exercise is a response to President Jammeh's "Operation Clean the Nation."

He commended the Gambian leader for the good initiative, adding that it is another grand step towards improving and advancing health care for the people of The Gambia.

Mr Gassama also appealed to the National Environment Agency (NEA) and the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) to transfer the dump site behind the Bakau LBS football field to another place.
