Thursday, January 17, 2008
The national chairman and leader of the APRC party, President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh has accepted Alhagie Adama Bahoum as the APRC's sponsored candidate for New Town Ward, ahead of the January 24 local government elections, according to a press release from the APRC Secretariat.

Mr Bahoum replaces Bakary B Darboe, who has withdrawn his candidature to run for re-election.

Meanwhile, the country's electoral commission, IEC, has approved the nomination of Mr Bahoum, indicating that this development is in accordance with Section 51 (4) of Decree 78 of 1996.
