Hawks stumble on first win

africa » gambia » bakau
Thursday, March 13, 2008
Hawks manage an unconvincing 1-0 victory over Sait Matty last night in their Week Five league encounter at the Independence Stadium.

Substitute Omar Sarr's last-minute gasp aided Hawks to earn their first win in four matches. The Africell sponsored side were arguably made to pay a dear price for squandering numerous scoring chances in both intervals.

Sait Matty were the brighter side and the introduction of versatile Dimingo Manneh in the final fifteen minutes saw Hawks endured even more pressure.

However, the Bakau side saw their efforts go in vain when Omar Sarr capitalised on defensive mixed-up to slot in the only goal of the match.
