Jaliba Kuyateh storms Bakau

Jaliba Kuyateh, the country's undisputable king of Kora and cultural ambassador is set to storm Bakau community centre on May 15th 2008, with his Kumareh Band.

The performence of the country's cultural ambassador will exclusively feature a significant number of young sprouting, talented Gambian musicians in their various specialised profession in the world of music.  

The event is officially and proundly backed up and sponsored by africell, the company which succeded in carving a name for itself in GSM service industry of the Gambia, said Mr Kawsu Jaiteh, coordinator of the Bill Clinton youth association, the Gambia chapter, organisers of the 15th may 2008 cultural musical jamboree.

Mr Kawsu Jaiteh, in a recent chat with arts and culture said the main purpose of organising the programme was geared towards raising, which would be used by the youth association in its activities, especially in the areas of community services such as sensitising the communities about the dangers of malarial diseas, the need to have clean and safe environment, access to clean drinking water and to also afford the cost of running the Bill Clinton youth association's secretariat, among others.

Mr Jaiteh promised that the forth coming cultural Kora show would produce startling surprises for music lovers, especially fans of Jaliba Kuyateh.

According to him, Jaliba Kuyateh had accepted their invitation with open heart.
