British phlanthropists: Stephanie, Paula, Sue and Sam, accompanied by their Gambian friend Sherifo Camara on Monday October 23 donated stationeries , football jersey and second hand clothes to Marakisa Methodist Lower Basic School in Kombo Central in Western Region.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Stephanie one of the philanthropists said they came to The Gambia to assist the needy, especially children. She added that it has ever been their desire to help the rural poor.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Sam another philanthropist in the group said education is the most important gift to the children after love. " I am looking towards to establish a charity organisation in The Gambia, " he said.

Reacting to the generosity of the gesture, Desmond Principal of Marakisa Methodist Lower Basic School , said he was elated with the gesture. "It was a big surprise to me.
