GFA official attends Johannesburg summit

Abdou Salaam Jammeh, CAF's Education   and Football Development Officer, who doubles as acting GFA Secretary-General will leave Banjul this morning for Johannesburg , South Africa , where he will join elite football administrators in Africa in the continental course for Administration Instructors, Observer Sports can reveal.

The high-profile course is scheduled for October 26 to November 6, 2007, at the South African city of Johannesburg .

"Football has become a worldwide phenomenon and football administrators require a regular update of one's knowledge and renewed methodological approach.   The objective of the Johannesburg training programme, is aimed at enhancing the capacities of the continent's top football administrators in sound management and training, a press statement issued by the Gambia Football Association revealed.

  "The Johannesburg forum is also aimed at informing and teaching the football officials on the proper running and teaching of football, at both national and international levels, as well as passing on valuable information on the management of different football organisations."

  Mr Salaam Jammeh would be accompanied to South Africa , by two versatile female coaches, Mariama Sowe and Choro Jobe Mbenga, who would be attending the continental course for African women coaches in Johannesburg .   The coaching education programme, is aimed at developing female football in Africa by putting women in the forefront in national and continental football.
