The criminal trial of Abdoulie Sonko, resumed on Monday at the High Court in Banjul after several months of delay.

When the case was called in before Justice Yamoa, Lawyer Lamin Camara, announced that he is representing defense counsel Mai Fatty, who is currently indisposable.

But the case could not proceed due to the absence of counsel Mai Fatty, and the presiding judge, adjourned the case to January 21, next year. Mrs Merley Wood represented the state in the trial.

Lawyer Fatty has been undergoing oversees medical treatment, a tragic road accident along Berthel Harding Highway months ago.

Abdoulie Sonko has been standing trial in connection with the 1996 armed attack on Farrafenni Barracks, which resulted into casualties.
