A serious fire disaster ravaged one Ousman Ceesay's carpentry workshop, located between the TAF Construction building supply division and Banjul Oxygen (just behind H.G. Gambia Ltd), along Mamadi Manjang Highway. The sad incident occurred on Thursday around 9:00 pm.

The inferno totally destroyed valuable materials comprising 4 big machines,  drilling machines, handsaws, hand drills, hand tools, and other materials such as 26 panel doors, and 26 cupboards belonging to Charles Jaw Memorial Academy, all estimated at over one million dalasis

Speaking to the Daily Observer, Ousman Ceesay, proprietor of the carpentry workshop said that the cause of the incident is not yet known to him. He explained that he was informed at around 9:00 pm that his workshop was on fire while at home.

"I rushed to the scene and met firefighters from Serrekunda fire station at the scene trying to contain the fire. They tried hard but could not make it.  The whole carpentry workshop has been burnt to ashes," he narrated in a pathetic tone.

Completely affected by the blazing inferno that destroyed all his belongings, Mr Ceesay seized the opportunity to call on  the NGOs, government institutions, philanthropists, and the general public to help him to overcome this disastrous situation. He can be contacted on 9914905.
