The 2008 budget of The Gambia government will be  presented today, December 14, at 5 pm,  to the National Assembly by the secretary of state for Finance and Economic Affairs, Musa Gibril Bala Gaye.

This came following a week-long debate on the draft budget estimate by deputies during which a series of amendments were carried out.

The exercise is a constitutional requirement.

During the presentation of the draft estimates, SoS Gaye revealed that the 2008 budget projects revenue and grants at D4,476 million, out of which, domestic revenues constitutes D3,771 million, representing a 14 per cent increase over the 2007 budget figure of D3,322 million.
