Cattle tax fetches D418,297

Ismaila Sambou, secretary of state for Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs has said that the total revenue collected by the five area councils in the country in respect of cattle tax for the fiscal year 2007 amounts to D418,297.

SoS Sambou made this remark, on Tuesday, during a question and session session at the fourth meeting of the Assembly in the 2007 legislative year.

According to him, the Brikama Area Council collected D11,358.00 in 2007; the Manskonko Area Council collected D69,848.00 up to the 10th of October 2007; Janjanbureh Area Council also collected D67,386.00 up to September 2007; Basse Area Council collected D102,319.00 up to the 10th of October 2007 and Kerewan Area Council also collected D167,386.00 up to the 10th of October 2007.
