Modou Alieu Jallow, Chairperson of the National Patriotic Students Association (NAPSA), has advised students to stop the beach parties during the summer holidays.

Speaking to the Young Observer columnist, Modou Alieu Jallow said students should regard their books as their best friends not to continue going to the beaches for parties or Sunday beach programmes.

"The beach is not a place for them, as future leaders, this is the time for them to prepare themselves for a better tomorrow", he added.

According to Mr. Jallow, students should take their education seriously because parents suffer a lot to pay for their school fees and other expenses. "If students spend most of their time playing and not doing anything positive, therefore, one can predict the future to be in jeopardy", he revealed.

He also expressed worries that young people are loosing their lives on the beach due to carelessness and their social-wayward lifes.

Jallow noted that the development of our nation lies in the hands of the youths, adding that youths should therefore be in the forefront of the country's development process. He finally advised youths to open their mind to the sense of responsibility and duty.
