Justice Haddy C. Roche of the Banjul High Court has adjourned the land dispute case filed by Lasana Sillah against Mrs Lady Njameh-Jawara, Mr Alaji Wandipha Jawara, and Mr Abdou Magid, to May 28 and May 29.

This adjournment comes following the indisposition of Borry Touray, counsel for the plaintiff and lawyer Lamin Mboge, a prosecution witness who was supposed to be cross examined.

When the case resumed yesterday, lawyer Momodou Drammeh announced his representation for the 1st defendant, Lady Njameh-Jawara, while lawyer Musa Bachilly represented the second defendant, Alaji Wandipha Jawara. Mariama Denton also announced her representation for the 3rd defendant, Mr Abdou Magid.

Lawyer Denton informed the court of her intention to cross examine the prosecution witness, lawyer Lamin Mboge, who was absent. "My lord, we cannot proceed with the case without cross examining the witness and the said witness is not available. Therefore, I am applying for an adjournment to enable us cross examine the witness", she said.

Justice Roche granted the application, before adjourning the case.

The high court judge made informed the court of her preparedness to ensure speedy trial. "The case cannot be left hanging in court without a progress," she concluded.
