Hamadi Sowe, the last-man standing trial for concealment of treason in the wake of the 21st March 2006 foiled coup plot allegedly led by Colonel Ndure Cham, ex-chief of defence staff of the Gambia Armed Forces, was remanded at the State Central Prison yesterday.

The suspect appeared before Justice Yamoa at the Criminal Division of the Banjul High Court. But the case was later called in the chambers of the presiding judge, and it was eventually adjourned to Thursday June 5 for hearing.

The state was represented at the trial by Lawyer A.S Umar, while Neneh Cham-Chongan represented the accused person. Mr Sowe is being tried for concealment of treason.
