Wednesday, October 03, 2007

Jarra Colley, a 15-year- old girl residing in Brikama, on Saturday September 29, 2007, met her untimely death when she drowned at Kubuneh village river in Kombo North, Western Region.

The deceased was said to have gone for a weekend in Kubuneh village, on Friday September 28, when she met her untimely death.
An eyewitness explained that "before we normally start  swimming in the river, we  first pray and then swim.

For the late Jarra Colley, she was a stranger and did not perform the usual prayers with her friends before swimming the river. When we were praying, Jarra Colley rushed and swim in the river.

Before we finished our prayers, we heard someone shouting for help, but we cannot do anything at that time to rescue her because we cannot swim".

The late Jarra Colley was said to have been rescued by the villagers and later taken to the Banjulinding Health Centre where she was pronounced death.
She was laid to rest on Sunday, September 30th, at Kubuneh.
