Unlicensed ammunition custodian charged

One Alagie Kebba Gassama, a native of Lamin Village in Kombo North was recently arraigned before Senior Magistrate EF M'Bai of the Brikama Magistrates Court on three count charges of threatening violence, being in possession of ammunition and being in possession of ninety AK 47 bullets and two pistol bullets.

When the charges were read to him, Mr  Gassama pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

According to the particulars of the offence, Mr Gassama, on December 5, 2007, at Lamin Daranka, Kombo North, threatened one Lamin Manjang by pointing a pistol at him. He was also on the same day found in possession of ninty AK 47 bullets and two pistol bullets without a license from the Inspector General of Police.

Magistrate M'Bai  granted him bail on the sum of one hundred thousand dalasis (D100,000). The case was adjourned till Monday December 31 for further hearing. Police prosecutor ASP Camara stood in for the IGP.
