Al-Kharafi 6 charged with theft

Six employees at Al-Kharafi Yundum Camp in Kombo North, were on Monday, paraded before Magistrate Ayoub John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates Court on two charges of theft and conspiracy to commit felony, contrary to Section 252 and 368 of  the Criminal Code.

Buba Ceesay, Sarjo Danso, Fabakary Suwaneh, Lamin Baldeh and Lamin Jarju, who have been charged on count one, are accused of jointly stealing a truckload of basalt valued at D29,000, in December 2007 at Al-Kharafi road construction camp at Yundum Village.

On count two, Buba Ceesay, Sarjo Danso, Fabakary Suwaneh, Lamin Baldeh, Lamin Jarju and Momodou Kolong Jallow, on the same day, conspired to commit felony.

However, Buba Ceesay, Fabakary Suwaneh, Lamin Baldeh and Lamin Jarju have pleaded guilty on count one but Sarjo Danso denied committing any crime.

Buba Ceesay, Fabakary Suwaneh, Lamin Baldeh and Lamin Jarju have pleaded guilty on count two, but Sarjo Danso and Momodou Kolong Jallow denied any culpable offence.

At that juncture, the presiding magistrate adjourned the case to February 7 for continuation
