Alleged Police kidnappers' case suffers setback

The ongoing criminal case against Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy, both personnel of the Gambia Police Force allegedly accused of kidnapping one Mr John, on 1st March 2007, at Elephant Guest House in Brufut, on Tuesday 30 October suffered set back. 

The case was last week scheduled at the Bundung Magistrate Court, to resume but the Police Prosecutor 772 Sergeant Samateh was bereaved. On Tuesday, the case also could not  proceed and was re-scheduled to 6 November, due to the indisposal of the Presiding Magistrate Buba Jawo. 

It could be recalled that the duo are standing trial on three charges of conspiracy kidnapping and robbery with violent conduct.

According to the particulars of the offence, in the month of March 2007, at Kololi, Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy connived and stole the sum of Euros 3,000 from one Mr John. Count two stated that on 1st March 2007, at Brufut in the Western Region, Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy kidnapped or abducted one Mr John, at Elephant Guest House in Brufut from 1st to 2nd March 2007.

Count three also indicated that on 1st March 2007, at Kololi in the KMC, Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy forcefully robbed one Mr John and Johanese of Euros 3,000 .
