Alpha Omar Barry and Ousman Barry were on Tuesday granted bail at a sum of D50,000 after pleading not guilty to charges of assault, by Senior Magistrate Bub Jawo of the Bundung Magistrates' Court.

The particulars of the offence stated that on October 30th, 2007 at Bundung in the Kanifing Municipality, Alpha Omar Barry and Ousman Barry  jointly assaulted one Mumino Touray by beating him all over his body, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

When the change sheet was read to them, they pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.  However, they were granted court bail at the sum of 50,000 with a Gambian surety each, and the case was adjourned to Tuesday, 27 November, 2007 for hearing. Corporal 510 Touray stood in for the IGP.
