Four conspirators in the dock

Three alledged conspirators were, on Monday, brought before Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah Camara of the Bundung Magistrate Court, charged with four counts of assault, trespass and willful damage to property.

According to the particulars of offence, Lamin Marong, Alieu Lowe and Oumie Low, the three defendants, on 27 October 2007, at  Bundung in the KMC, entered the house of one Alhagie Bett, thereby annoying, intimidating and insulting him.

On count two, the defendants, on the same day, and the same place assaulted Alahagie Bett, causing him actual bodily harm. On count three, they alledgedly asaulted one Mariama Konteh, thereby causing her actual bodily harm, and on count four, the same accused persons willfully and unlawfully damaged a stand fan, mobile phone, cooking pot, house door, window and a t-shirt, all valued at D2,550,  belonging to Alhagie Bett.

When the charge sheet was read to them, they all pleaded not guilty.

And the case was then adjourned to January 23, 2008, for the prosecutor, Sergeant 772 Samateh to open his case.
