The trial of six conspirators who are currently facing 16 charges, was, on Monday, deferred to Tuesday, February 6, 2008 by Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung Magistrates Court.

The men Charles Lawson, Modou Jeng, Njanko Kebbeh, Ebrima Danso, Amadou Watara and Abdou Cudos Jobe, were accused of being in possession of forged banknotes, and purchasing equipment used for forgery.

Sergeant 493 Badjie, holding brief for ASP Bonjang, informed the court that ASP Bonjang and 3 other accused persons were absent in court.  He then applied for an adjournment.  Lawyer Maccathy announced his representation for Ebrima Danso.

Modou Jeng and Njanko Kebbeh informed the court that they had engaged the services of a lawyer but he was sick. Abdou Cudos Jeng also told the court that he had engaged the  services of a lawyer .

In her ruling, Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara urged the accused to inform their lawyers to be present on the re-scheduled date, if they had secured their services, as  they are expected to make their plea.
